September holiday recommendations

Hi

Does anyone have any recommendations for Holidays in mid/ late September ?

we are a couple in our 30s no kids and want a 4/5 star all inclusive for 10 days , we were set on Cape Verde and about to book until I saw all the stuff and the shigella outbreak , my partner would still go but I am very put off

Ideally want somewhere that has a bit of a nightlife ( not clubs) but bars restaurants and stuff to do during the day etc as although we are doing all inclusive we don't want to be confined to the resort ( although if we did go Cape Verde we probably would have been )

Budget is around £1300 each max

I'm not keen on Turkey, Tunisia , Egypt etc and am already going to Morocco with friends, also don't want the canaries

I am looking at Greece and Cyprus but seems
to be alot of different towns etc and I am not sure of which ones are best for what we want- anyone know ?

thanks

Santa Eularia in Ibiza (it's not clubby) but there's loads of nice restaurants around the marina and town in general and some have live music. Good bus service so you can go to other areas eg Ibiza town, for a day out.

Mallorca would also be good, you could have a day in Palma, get the old wooden train to Soller/Port Soller, beach etc. If you put your requirements in somewhere like the Jet2holidays search tool, play with the filters and check the map for the location, you can make a short list even if you don't book through them.

We enjoyed Larnaca in Cyprus a few years ago in October still really warm then

AI in Greece really spoils the experience though, but I wouldn't do AI anywhere, especially as a child free couple. Surely one of the joys of being on holiday is going for a wander early evening, couple of drinks while you choose somewhere to eat, then eating at a restaurant in a nice location?

Unless you're going to spend all day every day sitting by the pool drinking, it's probably cheaper to just buy your food and drink while out, especially in the Med, where they're generally cheaper than the UK.

I cannot understand people who enjoy an A1 holiday abroad in a lovely place with great food and things to see and do. We went to Crete to a hotel where most people were on A-. We weren’t. All the Brits lay around all day drinking and never left the hotel. The Germans and other nationalities hired cars, went out to see and do things and explore the island. The hotel played musak all day from about 10 am to 10pm round the pool . It felt like being in the Truman show. We hired a car and went to the museum , the beaches and ate out. Explored the area. I cannot understand people who just aren’t interested in the country they’re visiting.

Each to their own I’d say 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve had holidays where I’ve hired a car and explored/eaten out.

I’ve had others where I’ve been exhausted from various things going on at home and literally want to chill by a pool and not think about anything else

tbh I've never been an AI type of person I've only done it in locations where you really need to such as when I went to Jamaica, Eygpt etc .. Cape Verde is one of those locations where most people go AI which is why we just set on doing that and it's kind of stuck but I'm not keen on going there anymore

also I don't think everyone who does AI doesn't do anything at all, in Jamaica we did a different excursion everyday and defo did not just stay around the pool drinking although I'm sure some did

even though we are planning to go AI we won't stay in the hotel every night

I have been looking at Crete but there are so many little towns and I'm not sure which is the best one to choose
