Family of 5 3-4K budget…where would you go

We are a family of 5 (two parents, a 6,4 and 4 month old). We have around 3-4K we can spend on a summer holiday. Where would you go please? I’m unsure whether it’s better to fly somewhere with a beach and kids club for the older two (we did this in Ibiza last year and it was great), or drive (we are based in the middle of England) and perhaps do some kind of Centre Parcs style resort perhaps in France, Belgium etc. would really welcome any advice. Many thanks

Germany? Not necessarily Alps/southern Bavaria as that can be quite expensiv. Frankonian Switzerland (north Bavaria) or Baltic coast? Do you like to be active?

Maybe less weather secure but plenty to do and see.

A s/c appartment. Plenty of public pools, lido and indoors.

Thank you @reluctantbrit. I think we’d like something with a beach and sea at least nearby really so Germany (and Belgium I guess) are probably out.

I’ve done a few euro camp style, I really like sandaya sequoia park but didn’t visit a beach, also have kids club. Though my one pet peeve with them is the lack of food choices at some (la rive) and limited times so if you try to stick to a routine you might find yourself cooking more than you’d like but I like the space of them but then I do like AI where I don’t have to think or tidy up!

would you drive down or look to fly and car hire? That can be more expensive.

What about Spain? Cheap budget airline flights, transfers (can book these yourself) and hotel via any of the main sites like Tui, Booking.com, Onthe beach orca package via on the beach. I’m sure you’ll be able to find something on the Costa’s . Tossa De Mar is nice as a resort and you can take a day trip to Barcelona from there.

The French mobile home sites are good too. Some have quite nice bistro’s on site and they’re usually near a lovely old town. We liked the Loire ones when ds was younger - not too far to drive from Calais but warm and sunny. Try Eurocamp or Pierre Et Vacances (who do chalets/apts).

A Dutch centerparcs would come in under budget. We’re also a family of 5 and I’ve never managed to find a week’s holiday flying for that budget. But we have driven lots of places!

West coast of France eg the Vendee is a good option as weather is usually very good though not crazy hot and drive is shorter especially if you take the Portsmouth to Le Havre/Caen crossing (st malo is pricey)

Really?! You can’t be looking very hard.

I’ve just put the OPs details into Jet2 during the summer holidays and there are absolutely loads of options under 3k.

Avanti holiday village in paphos is less than £3k and you’ll have a kitchen which is handy at those ages. Or Bull Dorada in Arguineguin and that’s All
inclusive. Or Kiprioti, all
inclusive and less than £3.5k.

I'd recommend Crete AI on that budget

There are loads of options including 5* AI with waterpark, kids club etc on easyjet holidays if you want to go somewhere hot like turkey etc.

Eurocamp style holidays are also fun and many have playgrounds, pools, kids clubs, and often a beach near by, and if you drive you can load your car with whatever you can fit in, so less constrained by a few cases full of luggage.

You can even take bikes etc if you want.
