Has anyone been to one of the smaller Greek islands and stayed somewhere like this?

Hi - I have visited the main Greek islands, but a friend and I are keen to go to one of the smaller ones. We have a free week in August with no DC so ideally an adults only hotel or apartments (not a big resort type place) with a pool bar/café with a decent sized pool. We are not party animals but would want to be within walking distance of a few bars/restaurants. Ideally close to a nice sandy beach too. I have heard Paros and Skopelos mentioned but I'm right at the start of our search and have had some fantastic recommendations from MN before. Does this sound like a place anyone has stayed? Ideally it would be around 1k each for the week, including flights. Not Kefalonia as friend has been there too many times! Thankyou

Team Skopelos! Just the right amount of stuff going on, but easy to find peace and quiet too. Easy to get there and get around but not overrun.

How do / did you get there from Athens?
Did you like where you stayed?

Ferry from Athens (Piraeus). The train goes all the way from the airport to Piraeus. Some of the ferries stop in Skiathos first then on to Skopelos.

I've been to Naxos. There's boats everyday.
You can get a flight from Athens but I'm not sure how regular they are.
I stayed in an apartment. It was lovely but no swimming pool. So wouldn't be right for you.
I loved Naxos though.

@SpringAndSunshineIsHere I was feeling pretty clueless earlier on before I posted this and asked chat gpt where was the best recommendation based on what we are looking for. It was Paros every time!
