Where should I go...

Where should I go on holiday? Any thoughts / recommendations?

I have no inspiration!

I don't really want to specify anything, just want to see what suggestions I get!

Also anywhere to avoid from your experience?

Italy! Gorgeous weather, countryside, art, architecture, food, wine, gashion, beaches, mountains, cities...it's got the lot, IMO.

Plus short, cheap flights from most local airports, great accommodation for any budget, from EuroCamp to luxury hotel...oh I want to go NOW!!!!

That was meant to say fashion!

I would recommend Florence/Tuscany...beautiful and things to suit all ages and budgets.

I suppose I need to say it will be end of July/start of August & would prefer not to need a car as It'll only be me & DD (9)

try along the Adriatic peninsula then - we're going here as it'sjust me and ds (6) and dd(5). Flying into Venice - local buses leave venice airport every 20 mins to go along the coast and there is a bus stop outside the campsite! By the looks of the site it should be busy enought to keep the dc's entertained and we're gonna chill out int eh evening round the bbq. me drinking wine when they go to bed! There are LOADS of campsites along the Adriatic coast so trawl for deals etc. the campsites are fab as there's so much for your ds to do - and kids club if you want a break now and then!
