Venice - July or late September

Looking into going to Venice for 3/4 days. July would be good as not so long to wait but then September for the lower crowds and heat.
Will have to fly to London to then fly to Venice, would you arrive in the afternoon /evening or do the first flight out in the morning?
Any recommendations for hotels with twin beds would be appreciated.

I would avoid July as it can get very hot and busy so would be deeply unpleasant. Arrive in the morning so that you can make the most of your time.

I would say arrive in the morning so that you can see the fantastic views from the water. If in your budget get a water taxi from the airport. Or get the water bus!

I would recommend neither month. If you can, go in the winter when you won't have to deal with the crowds and heat.

I’d choose September of the two. I’m sure most hotels can easily arrange twin beds.

September for sure, July may be horrendeously hot. Arrive in the evening so you can go out sightseeing super early next morning before the crowds arrive.

Of the two definitely September. Late May to end Aug very hot and more smelly. We went in June once as it was my mums 70th. Too hot to do anything much

July would be horribly hot and crowded

Absolutely agree with this, go in by water. We did it at night and it’s so good, the quiet and the lagoon air, and the city approaches and you get taken straight into the big canals. It’s like you arrive in another world.

Early April!
We went then & it was so quiet, compared to the following 6 months.
It is such a beautiful place but so small, strongly recommend try to stay away from the busy times, it’s really worth the wait.
