Help me pack please (week in Malta with mixed spring weather)

I'm the worst packer. I always take too much and still somehow manage to get it wrong! I'm going to Malta in a week and forecast is some rain, some sun, around 18C, 11C at night. I can't think how warm that will be - is that chinos/jeans weather or more summer clothes weather? I'll take some layers, and a light rain jacket, but just can't decide on which outfits to take.

I usually take one top per day, but never know how many pairs of trousers to pack - how many bottoms would you take for one week?

This is assuming the fuel hasn't run out by then...

Go in jeans or warm trousers and take another pair of trousers, perhaps slightly thinner. You might want to take a pair of shorts but I probably wouldn't bother at 18 degrees. If you wear pjs it will depend on whether you have heating in your accommodation as to whether you want winter or summer weight ones. Wear shoes that will be OK in rain and take a comfortable pair of trainers and perhaps flip flops which can double as slippers. Wear a fleece, hoodie or warm cardi to go in and take a lighter cardi incase its warmer than expected. If you are going out for dinner a lot or in a nice hotel you might want to take more, perhaps a non crease dress or skirt which looks OK with the trainers. Once you've got all that in you can always add another pair of trousers etc if you have space.
Make sure you check the forecast on several sites as close to the time you are going so you can adjust your packing if necessary.
