Disneyland Paris advice please? (specifically the virtual queue to meet characters).

Hi! I'm taking my daughter to disneyland Paris in the Easter Hols and she really wants to meet Princesses and Elsa. I have seen that Elsa is only available via the virtual queue system which goes live at 9:45 and 2pm. I've downloaded the app so I will give that a bash, but I've also booked the character breakfast at 9:45 so I just wanted to check how it works.

If successful in the queue would we have to immediately make our way to the meet and greet location or does it give you the option to pick a time? Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question, I'm a newbie and I don't want us to be sitting having breakfast and then have to leg it to another part of the park 😅

Have you booked the Princess character breakfast in Auberge (or the lunch). We find character dining is the best way to meet the characters without the queues

No , if you get a place via the virtual queue it’s for some point during the period and it counts down the time , you do need to be there at the time you are given though .

No we've booked the Regal view resturant in the new bit of the park, which isn't far the Elsa and Anna meet location I believe. But Elsa and Anna aren't at the resturant, I think the only way to meet them is via the virtual queue system.

Thank you, this helps! So I need luck to be on my side twice then - once to get a place in the queue initially and again that our place is far enough back we have time to eat out breakfast 🙃

But at least I can try again at 2pm and have a bit more flexibility.

This disney stuff is hard work !

I haven't been since 2024 so have only used it to book avengers meet and greets at hero training academy, but from what I've read you need to be on the ball refreshing the app from a couple of minutes prior to 9:45 or 2pm. The slots fill in seconds.
Also you need to have your tickets already registered in the app, because you have to select people for the experience. I am fairly sure they will already be in the app if you bought just park tickets on the website, but when we had a package both hotel and park tickets I had to add them, it's right at the top on the home page of the app.

We had something like a 3 hour virtual wait when I booked Spiderman on our first trip in 2022, but it was an awful lot less when we went the second time in 2024, but almost certainly longer than the duration of your breakfast. Note I found the wait time doesn't necessarily count down in a continuous minute by minute fashion, early on it might barely move and then it can go from 30 minute wait to 0 in just 10 minutes.

Thank you @TeamGeriatric- I've got my tickets in the app already as we bought through Disney.

I've also read it's a bit of a lottery whether you actually get through or not and sometimes refreshing at the exact second the queue goes live isn't even enough. I imagine Anna and Elsa will be particularly tough with it just opening 😥

I shall just have to take a deep breath and see how it goes, and not mention anything to my 4 year old in case we don't make it 😅
