Hi all!

We have had our long awaited Mauritius holiday next month cancelled by Tui due to flight disruption in the Middle East.

I am now totally torn between -

Rebooking for a few weeks later (mid/end of May) for Zanzibar

Rebooking for Mexico (Akumal/Tulum)

2 adults 1 9yr old child. What would you do?

(Zanzibar flies with Kenya Airways, avoiding the ME, Mexico is with Tui themselves. )

Zanzibar

Would you mind telling me why? I think it’s in the lead for me but I feel a bit scared about it for some reason!

End of May in is peak season in those places in Mexico for the sargassum seaweed.

Zanzibar is a very conservative country.

All passengers entering Zanzibar have to purchase

their mandatory travel insurance from their government. TBH I’d skip both and go somewhere in Europe instead.

I love Zanzibar but have been bitten ridiculously m. I grew up in Oman so went a lot. I’d go for Tulum. If it kicks off at least you’ll be away from it and will be able to fly back.
