North Sea Ferry costs escalating fast!

Last week we planned a summer holiday, which started with getting the overnight Hull - Rotterdam ferry. Family of 4 + vehicle.

We left it a couple of days and went to book annual leave x 2, Cattery etc.

Went back to confirm yesterday and the ferry price had more than doubled. The increase was over £900, taking it to £1700 return. Not a glitch on the booking system, P&O say it’s dynamic pricing.

We are have now booked ferries to/from a different port, several hours further away.

If you are planning to use a North Sea ferry this summer, it may be worth booking it asap.

It might be worth trying using a different device, clearing cookies, using an app instead of browser. Too late for this year, but if it happens again.

Did you try booking from a different browser? Some companies put a cookie on your computer that increases the fair when you comeback. You need to use incognito mode or a different browser to avoid this. It is very annoying.

We have done all that. And used different devices.
P&O have confirmed the price increase is genuine.

We were going through a travel agent, as part of a wider package, she has done the same.
