We have just booked our first family holiday to Croatia. Half board with Tui.
We have 2 teenagers and a 10 year old. Please can you share any tips , advice , hacks etc? With packing, must have etc. Any thing to get organised, to think of - as I am quite a over packer, anxious person.
We have only ever holidayed I'm the uk. Where I have loaded up our car and always bought every thing and the kitchen sink!
It is our first package holiday. We have flown once before.
What have you learnt on the way, when travelling with older children?

Proper water shoes. Seriously. The rocks in the sea are bloody sharp. If your teens dont like the idea just buy them anyway, they will change their mind when they get there, you cant make do with flip flops, trust me.

Whereabouts in Croatia?

You'll need plug adapters to use your UK plugs over there. If you have medications or preferred suncream and toiletry brands then make sure you pack those. Other than that, you can buy anything else.

Less is more. You don't want to be lugging ridiculous quantities of luggage around or trying to look after it all. It's just miserable. The only "just in case" item should be a first aid kit and copies of passports/emergency contacts. Everything else should be stuff you will definitely need and use (that includes the odd comfort item - but nothing precious).

I assume you have got travel insurance that includes medical repatriation and reviewed FCDO travel advice?

Croatia is lovely.

Oh, mosquito repellent and cream! My husband didnt get bitten but I got eaten alive!

Yes good mozzie repellent, Jungle Formula is usually good. Enough adapators and chargers for phones, devices etc..

Can I be nosy and ask which Tui hotel?

Definitely the water shoes, as Croatian beaches are mostly rocky and stony (with beautiful, clear sea). But even if you didn't get them, you can easily buy them there, so it's not massively important.
There isn't really anything to add especially, just anything that you would want for hot weather - I prefer to take my own sun cream and not buy it there.

Time of year?
I second water shoes. The sea is lovely and clear but stony. Great for snorkeling but you can buy snorkels there.
You'll get a decent luggage allowance with TUI. I always take suncream as it's expensive abroad and I like a particular sort.
Look on the hotel website to see what's provided in the rooms, you probably don't need to take toiletries or beach towels.
Book your travel insurance now, not nearer the time. Make sure any medical conditions are declared.
