Where can we go in Easter hols for 50th with a teen?

DH turning 50. We were planning a holiday but now I’m loathe to go far with the situation in the Middle East so thinking closer to home Europe or Uk for a short break.

DH likes football, wine, music. American football

Needs to be a special break but also fun for DS 13

Ideas welcomed!

If staying in the UK then Liverpool

Liverpool is a good shout, for wine I suggest the Loire valley is driving (take the st malo ferry and if available book the deluxe cabin, big room with double bed) or Avignon by car or flying and rent a car for the Rhone area including chateau neuf du papes. Avignon is somewhere I went when mine were teens and was just perfect for a chilled out break with lots of winery visits

Italy?
I mean, I know nothing about football, but understand they're known for it.

Consulting Google, apparently you can combine football with winery tours in Madrid, Lisbon, and Munich.
