Europa-Park and Rulantica trip with young kids: best onsite hotel?

Hello! Looking for some Europa park advice and tips! And about the hotels there especially. Thinking of staying one night at one of the onsite hotels, but spending one day at the theme park and one day at Rulantica.

We can arrive early on the first morning to enter the theme park or waterpark (looks like hotel guests get in early on both days). But looking for advice on which hotel to choose - young kids aged 4 and 7. Currently thinking long day at the theme park, then slightly shorter day the next day at the water park (need to drive two or three hours on the evening of the second day). The hotel at Rulantica looks great, but worried after a long day at the theme park it might be too much to get the shuttle for the 4 year old. And also might be good to be able to return to the hotel during the day?

which is the best hotel there? And which would you recommend or which order would you do the parks in? Thank you!

We’ve only stayed at the Krønasår (the Rulantica Hotel) and it was amazing! The rooms are excellent quality and fun, and the breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Leave loads of time for it (I’d imagine they’re all that good across the resort).

A day at Rulantica is exhausting so maybe that first, but positives and negatives about either way to be honest. Rulantica is a huge favourite with my three (7, 4 and 14)!

Following with interest!

I’d like to book soon. I’ve not been, but from the YouTube videos I’ve seen, the on-site hotels are all of a similar quality and situated close to the parks. It’s more about the themes you’d prefer.

We stayed at the colosseum one, room had a double bed plus bunk beds, there were only 4 hotels then and they were building the water park. It was very good but my dc were a little older (9&11) so were able to stay in the play area with Lego, kids tv , games etc without us and we pushed off to the spa which was 12+ rules change, (this was a while back, but most older primary aged kids were unaccompanied then as in Germany they are definitely more relaxed with dc). Ate at the Spanish hotel as preferred the menu.

Thanks all. Yes, I thought the Krønasår looked fab - just worried about the shuttle and whether my youngest would do better with a break in the middle of the day. Any other tips? Why is Rulantica exhausting?!

We stayed at the Roman hotel at Puy du Fou, so maybe in for a different theme this time! But maybe it doesn’t matter.

Europa-Park is amazing! You’ll have the best time.

All the on-site hotels are great. For us it just came down to what theming we preferred, so went with Bell Rock. We liked that we could walk to the park…definitely made it easier with kids at the end of the day.

Are you only doing one park day? We did 3 days and didn’t get on everything we wanted. The park is huge!

We stayed in Castillo Alcazar when we went and absolutely loved it. Pretty sure it was the cheapest which is why we booked it 😆 but it was great, medieval theming with suits of armour along the hallways, it was fab.
We ate at the Kronsar one evening though and all agreed we'd like to stay there next time, it does look lovely.
I don't think you can go wrong wherever you choose, and the breakfasts and dinners were all outstanding, have a brilliant time!

@GoBackToPartyCity yes, I think just one day. It’s part of a longer road trip in Germany and Austria so trying to squeeze it in. We initially weren’t planning to go to Rulantica, but have been told it’s excellent and we love pools/slides etc. So now thinking we’ll reduce our time in the Black Forest to do a day each in EP and Rulantica. The youngest is very short so won’t be able to do a lot of rides, so might need to come back when they are bigger! Bell Rock looks great, just more expensive! Just trying to figure out if it’s worth it!

Thanks @Shudacudawuda nice to hear all the positives. Need to weigh up the shuttle versus being right at EP
