Cyprus at Easter?

Have a holiday booked with Jet2 for me and family to Paphos at Easter. Do you think it's safe right now? No chance of refund on insurance or with Jet2 as FCO advice is still that terrorism more likely but not saying do not travel. Absolutely torn...

We're going to Ayia Napa late April and are still going. My DH parents live in Cyprus, near Larnaca, and they say it's fine.

In Paphos now and it's fine 😀

Mom lives there , going in May it’s absolutely fine

Where do you think the FCDO advice is saying that terrorism is more likely in Cyprus than anywhere else? As far as I am aware, the terrorism warning is on every country.

Agreed, sadly it's universal, possibly/probably a CYA by the authorities and not just in advice issued by the UK FCDO....the following is from the US State Department.

Isn't it more the issue that it's within range of Iran's bombs and the RAF base at Limassol has been attacked? Rather than terrorism.

We are also heading to Paphos for Easter and the weather forecast looks a bit ropey but keeping our fingers crossed!

Forecast is more of the same tomorrow but Thursday - Saturday is looking better 🤞

A lot of places will still be closed at Easter, it can be very windy and rainy. I’m not sure why tour operators allow people to go to resorts that are mostly closed.

East coast and west coast can be very different, Protaras and Ayia Napa tend to open up a bit later than Paphos. Paphos has more places that stay open all year round too.

Lots of places are opening (or due to open) in Paphos this weekend but unfortunately due to the awful weather and many people cancelling their flights it will be quieter than usual - many restauranteurs will delay until things improve 😐

If you see a miserable looking middle aged woman in a cagoule howling at the clouds, assume it is me...!

@YelramBobtrue. I’m a regular to Protarus and once got caught out during the Easter break so now i stick to August/September. I do hope for all those who do go, that the weather is kind to them. I went to Spain at Christmas and apps were showing 17/18 but when there it was actually 22/23 so don’t believe all you read.

Ditch the swimsuit and sandals, bring wellies and a snorkel 😰 😅

How is your holiday in Paphos going? It's dried up and the storms have stopped but it's still a tad chilly 🥶

Having a great time thanks- my expectations were so low that seeing any sunshine is a bonus! And the kids are undeterred- youngest spent an hour on the unheated pool today!!!

I'm glad you're having a good time. The forecast was so bad a week ago 😨

Your kids though, have they not emerged from the pool with frostbite??
