Although it’s considered safe.. What are you doing? Changing plans, seeing how things go ? or cancelling? What options have your travel company given you ?
If any?

We are due to go in the summer holidays (Aug) we haven't done anything yet, but obviously it's on my mind and the full balance is due by the end of May.

We haven't heard anything from the travel agent.

ymemanresu · 17/03/2026 14:22

We’re booked for June, nothing from Travel agent either

We’re counting the days ! 🇨🇾 🐣.
Flight only, though.
Edited to add : booked direct with airline.

We're booked to go in May. Intending to go as planned unless we're told we can't :)

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 17/03/2026 16:59

A male friend and his mum are due to go to a wedding there in October (they’re Cypriot) but are delaying booking until they know more.

Foreign office travel is considered fine but to be wary I think of terrorist attacks. Personally I wouldn’t book to go there now but if prebooked I’d go.

MargotMoon · 17/03/2026 17:14

Booked to go next month. Fully paid up and there will be no option to cancel/change plans unless it’s against FCO advice. Can’t see any reason to worry about going as things stand but obviously the situation could change very suddenly, but that’s life isn’t it.

Megsdaughter · 17/03/2026 17:16

Booked to go in September, last payment due in June.

Havn't done anything about it yet as waiting to see how things pan out. Will give it to August then maybe see about changing to elsewhere if it is still going on.

I would just say though that you would be hard pushed to find anywhere without the warning about terrorist attacks, including for places without any recent history. It's even on the Antarctica travel advice. It's just a global risk:

"There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times."

The Cyprus advice has some additional guidance and links to read.

It’s a hard one 🤔 as our trip is all paid for

We had booked to go at Easter cancelled, lots about £340. It’s not worth the stress - holidays are supposed to be relaxing!

Female family member due to travel there alone in 3 weeks. Her airline doesn’t start flights there until April so no advice has been given by them yet.

Personally I’d rather she didn’t go. She’s a complete flapper and can’t even handle a minor issue on holiday (like complaining about an issue with accommodation or a flight being slightly delayed etc - and she can’t deal with any form of digital tickets/boarding passes/document - I have to print everything and put it in order of needs in a folder for her 🙄) so I know if she’s there alone and shit hits the fan it’ll be a nightmare.
Shes flight only and going to a friends holiday home which is fully booked after her trip so extending her stay there may not be an option if needed.

I’ve suggested holding off and seeing how things are later in the year or booking a package deal to a different destination just now but she doesn’t believe anything bad could happen there as “all the locals are so lovely” 🙄 Which I’m very sure they are and it looks like a beautiful country to visit - but it’s geographical location would put me off just now.

Domino211 · 18/03/2026 07:07

My 16 year old and his friend are meant to be flying in 10 days - we looked to change flights but price was ridiculous for later dates so really unsure what to do! If we were all going I think we’d still go but worried about anything changing while they’re there with them both being young……..

hahabahbag · 18/03/2026 07:24

It’s no more dangerous there currently than other places. As far as terrorism goes it can happen anywhere, we’ve had high profile incidents in mainland Europe eg France and Germany. Don’t hang out on the airbase though!

Playing it by ear,but still going unless things change.due to go in April.all the people who say they havent heard from the travel agent? Why would they when they are going August etc.we certainly haven’t heard a thing.

ThirdStorm · 18/03/2026 08:57

I will be going in May unless the tour operator cancels.

ymemanresu · 19/03/2026 17:50

Been looking at Sourthern Spain today. Im wondering as people are cancelling it might be too quiet over there, less atmosphere 🤔
