Nimes in April

I'm going to Nimes with a friend for a long weekend in late April. Travelling by train.

We're going to see the ancient Roman stuff (our technical term) and drink wine.

Does anyone have any particular recommendations or tips beyond the usual top things to do in Nimes lists please l?

Get the bus to the Pont du Gard for a day.

And if it's not already on your list the musée de la romanité.

Fab city. Enjoy. It’s been years since I went so no recommendations but I do second the PP’s comment re Pont du Gard.

We'll definitely go there. I've been to the Pont du Gard already. It's amazing.

Uzès is nice too (easy to get to by bus), Saturday is market day (finishes at 12).

Yeah the Roman Museum is great - there is also a really nice restaurant on the top floor with a terrace that has a great view of the theatre.

They often have concerts (and sometimes mad historic enactment stuff) in the theatre too - which is fun. We fond that there is a lot of fun in just wandering around the narrow centre centre streets going to the bars and restaurants there.
