Marrakesh hotels

We are looking at booking a last minute trip to Marrakesh over Easter. Family of 4, hotel budget £300-400 per night. Would love recommendations as it’s totally new to us. Kids love swimming so heated pool is a must! Would consider a riad.

We went sometime ago to the Eden Andalou when our now teenager was 6 but from the Tripadvisor reviews, it still looks fine! It’s on the outskirts of Marrakesh and has shuttle buses that run into the main square. It is an all inclusive & has an aqua park next door to the property. I would check with the property that it’s open to kids too but from memory, the indoor pool is heated as are a few of the pools at the aqua park. They do have evening entertainment & the food was ok ( if not the best ever but there was plenty of it!).

I’m not that keen on all inclusives (just prefer to do lots of seeing stuff & trying local restaurants) but for Marrakesh it’s not a bad option.I think it must be the least kid friendly place we’ve ever been but overall, a good experience & trip. We had a few days in a Riad in the old town for the first few days, it was beautiful but the narrow alleyways outside with no pavements and mopeds and donkey carts coming at you around corners wasn’t fun with a small kid.

Do take a trip into the mountains, the scenery is gorgeous! There are plenty of little travel agencies in town that will sell you a tour for half the price that a hotel will. I think you can download an app that guides you around the old town in Marrakesh (it’s really easy to get lost). The Yves St Laurent gardens are worth a visit too.

How old are your kids? With little kids we stayed at Fawakay villas, this was a while ago but it worked really well. It’s about a 10-15 min cab ride to the medina but you get so much more space and peace than in the city. Very family friendly with dogs and donkeys and child friendly meals available. I can’t remember if the pool was heated but mine did go in it December (I didn’t!)

Kenzi club agdal medina has a wonderful heated pool. It's not far out of the city either, they run a shuttle bus or you can get an uber.
Hotel is all inclusive and they have a few fun sports activities for kids.
