Rescheduling of flights and refunds

If you book a trip to Vietnam via a 3 hr stopover in Dubai through a third party (not as a package, just flights), and the airline (Emirates)repeatedly reschedules, to the point you can’t go, are they obliged to refund in full? Insurance won’t cover as war.

I presume your contract is with the third party, not Emirates. What’s their policy?if all else fails, could you claim off your credit or debit card?

We choose to cancel with Emirates last week, we’re due to flight on the 25th with a stopover in Dubai, they’ve agreed to refund. We rebooked last Friday via KLM we’re now going via Amsterdam to KL.

I think if you’ve booked though a third party then you’ll need to chase them for a refund?

Emirates are refunding but you would need to go through third party.

It's a mess. More drone attacks very close to Dubai airport today.

I'd be avoiding if at all possible. They're trying to keep things as normal as possible to avoid reputational damage, but it's not a safe place to travel to/through atm.

Watching with interest as also booked via third party. Our flight on 26th March from Dubai to destination has been cancelled but flight to Dubai from London and then the two return legs are still operating. The third party has offered just a refund for the cancelled leg but I am certain we are entitled to refund for all, as we can’t get to the destination!

I accept we are unable to travel, as disappointing as it is, but don’t want to only get a partial refund. The third parties app only offers rebook or refund for cancelled leg.
I’m not planning to contact them just yet as there is still a fortnight to go and they will be busy with current travellers.

These are the CAA rules. If booked flights only with airline and not left Emirates are in theory refunding in full for flights leaving to end of March. We have applied for a refund though currently they refunded mine in full but nothing for DH or seats. Think it will get resolved with many forms. Return flights and connecting flights were covered by Emirates.

I’m in the same situation - Vietnam via Dubai in April with Emirates. There’s no information out yet about April so unsure whether they will be re routing or cancelling.

Have just looked at our (third party) booking. They are offering just 80% of the flights and the ‘refund’ is through a voucher not cash. I don’t want to rebook flights anywhere now through a third party ever again and we had bought FlexPlus tickets so can’t understand why the full cost isn’t refunded

I would never use a third party. I wonder if you are best to refuse the voucher and insist on a refund. I have a feeling if you accept a voucher they don't have to give a refund.

I did find before a really long manual online from CAA with rules. We are having trouble getting our refunds even directly. I think eventually we will get them but still have £1.3k to get back, for some reason they only refunded one person. I have to fill in about 12 forms, one for each seat as well but got COVID at the moment so will wait until that improves. If all else fails will try chargeback via the bank but will give them a month or so first. Their phone is engaged, their live chat was shut, now open, saying can't help. I think they are besieged at the moment.
