Turning 40 next Feb. My children will be nearly 2 and 4.

Would you go for Centre Parcs or Tenerife?

Any other recommendations welcome. It's obviously a difficult time of year and with two little ones.

Tenerife for sure. You can go to the beach every day for a cheap activity. It could even work out cheaper than centreparks if you include extra activities there!

We went to Majorca when our kids were the same age and loved it (even with the sickness bug we got on the first day from someone on the plane!) Plus, even in Feb, you will get some much-needed sun. We went to Tenerife in March one year and it was over 30 degrees, so february will still be hot, but more manageable.

Tenerife for sure - weather will be great in the day and perhaps a little cooler in the eve.

We’ve enjoyed many Tenerife holidays with our DS4 over the last 4 years - take a look at the Bahia Fantasia and GF Victoria.

Fantasia is AI; 10 mins from airport so easy on a cab (don’t book a transfer work holiday company - loads of cabs outside and super easy to get).

Victoria is a bit further down the road so say 20 mins in a cab too. B&B usually - rather than AI there but close to the beach and main town / restaurants etc so depends what type of holiday you’re looking for / if you like to wander out at night for dinner or prefer AI!

They’re both great options!

Anywhere but CP so overpriced

Thanks everyone

I was looking at GF Victoria which is 1.6k for four nights. But it looks amazing - as does Fantasia too (also recommended to me by someone else)

A lodge in Centre Parcs is currently 420 for the same four night stay. Hence the consideration of this option. Haven't been since I was a kid myself so although I remember enjoying it I don't know if the 40 year old version of me would too. Sure kids would!

If you had a 40th in Feb what would you do? (Doesn't have to be either of my ideas)

I should say I'm not normally a massive birthday person. I don't mind getting older at all -its just I tend not to do big things for my birthday, more a dinner out in the evening or since the kids a meal and cake at home etc. So the only reason I'm really considering these things is because I feel I should mark the occasion somehow.

The other idea I had was going to a spa with husband when kids are in nursery and then organising a meal with wider family at the weekend.

You couldn’t pay me to go to Center Parcs, but I am sure other people feel the same about Tenerife!

Thanks for the responses, seems pretty clear
