Alternative holiday to Cyprus

We are due to go to Cyprus in the summer. I am starting to look at alternatives as just don't know at the moment if we will be able to go.
I have been going to Cyprus for several years, so not sure where else to try.
Can anyone please recommend any alternatives?
Ideally no more than 4.5 hours on the plane, minimum 4 star hotel. It will be myself, DP and DD who is 8.
We usually go either bed and breakfast or half board, not really looking for all inclusive as we like to go out and about.

Don’t cancel yet. Cyprus is not worried. Schools open, locals having concerts on the beach. Flights in and out. Obviously can’t say for sure, but I think Cyprus will still be booming in the summer.

I am not going to cancel yet, just thinking about other options if it comes to it. Hopefully it will all work out by the summer, but want to be prepared just in case.

We were looking at Turkey but have to decided to go to Crete instead, was also looked at Majorca but Crete had better value for when we were looking.

My DH is Cypriot so we go a lot. Also done multiple holidays to various Greek Islands, Balearics and Croatia. I would say that a Greek island will give you the closest experience in terms of food, weather and culture.

Crete is gorgeous and my favourite of the Islands, but Zante and Kefalonia also lovely.

Thank you, I really love Cyprus so hard trying to think outside of the box!

What?!
I went last year and loved it. Did you go to Valetta or see any of the historical sites or just stay jn St Julien/Sliema?

We went all over the island. Valletta was ok but overall it’s just not a nice place at all
