Majorca - Palma Airport transfers

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any experience of getting from Palma Airport to Playa de Muro (60km away). Considering using a transfer company (I looked online at first one came up as 180e round trip) or perhaps just getting a taxi when we arrive. Any thoughts on what's the best plan?

What is best? Cheapest or quickest/most convenient?

I would probably just get the bus - last year the A32 which goes to Playa de Muro started on 15 March, so it could be running by the time you travel. Or there's the A33, but you'd need another bus for the last leg.

Buses are very good and cheap in many parts of Spain, and on airport runs and those between major cities, happily accept luggage.

If you want a taxi it might be cheaper than the 180 e if they taxi company can get another fare back to the airport soon after.

I live near muro. Taxi will be at least €90 I’d say as fares went up recently but you can pre book with companies. Petrol prices are also going through the roof here (cheers trump!) which may cause prices to raise.

There are also buses - check the TIB website as buses are cheap (https://www.tib.org/en/linies-i-horaris). Not sure when they start running for the summer.

Routes and timetables - CTM

Check the bus, train and metro service: lines, stops, routes, fares and maps of the TIB network.

We go to Mallorca every year. I usually pre-book a taxi from the resort I'm heading to, they'll usually give a discount on the rank price.
If I'm staying nearer the airport just hop in a taxi at the rank.

Is there a company you pre book with?

Buses sounds good but we have two small kids with us plus luggage and July heat - so thinking a taxi or transfer more convenient for us this year.

Legitimate(*) private transfer companies will be around the price of a taxi. There are pros and cons, but for me a con is that if the EES (Schengen entry system, fingerprints etc) has a meltdown, or your plane is late, or both, then your transfer driver can only wait so long before they have to pick up the next customer (probably from Germany on an intra-Schengen, no-passport-control flight).

There are always a bazillion taxis outside the airport at Palma and they have a big cupboard full of child seats. Then for the return you would need to get your hotel to book a local taxi, but there are loads available in the Playa de Muro/Alcudia area, so that won't be a problem - you can tell them what size child seats to bring. Also as your holiday goes on you might get confident enough to use the bus, which is reliable and cheap.

(*) As you get to the exit door of the airport terminal you will see several blokes hanging around with clipboards saying "Oficial (one f) Transfer". Curiously for "official" companies, though, if anyone in a uniform appears, they melt away. They are of course touts for unlicenced and uninsured cars, and you can be fined for taking them. But they might save you €10 each way.

I used Teletaxi Cala Millor so no good for Playa Muro. They are a registered taxi firm but give a little discount for pre-booked trips.
However on reading @samarrange post I would stick with a taxi rank. The EES could well cause big delays on arrivals this summer. It's already a nightmare at airports in the Canaries where the UK tourist numbers are high all year round.
Buses are good in Mallorca but unless you are desperate and travelling on a shoestring I wouldn't consider a bus for a transfer with luggage and children.
