We're going North from London to Newcastle so looking for places to throw ds (2.5) out of the car and chase him around. Any tips would be wonderful!

Bramham Park is just off the A1 - probably about 1.5 hours or so from Newcastle www.bramhampark.co.uk/bramham.htm

Best place we know is about a mile off the A1 on the A57, the glorious Clumber Park (National Trust).

Just after Peterborough there's a place called the Nene Valley Railway. It's signposted and is literally five minutes off the A1. It has a cafe, a (very tiny) play area and lots of trains in sidings that you can look at. If you wanted to spare the time, you can take a ride in a steam train. It's about an hour and a half from London so would be good for a first stop.

Fantastic ideas all of them - thank you so much - can't see us ever reaching Newcastle now!
