Sicily in October

With me breaking my shoulder, we need to reschedule our planned holiday which we originally booked for April to mid-October.

We thought about going to Sicily and hope anybody can recommend a hotel for two adults no children which is not utterly remote.

We don't need an AI resort but a pool would be nice. We plan this more as a sightseeing holiday so we most likely will have a car that means parking is needed.

Budget is around 2.5 K for 1 week that would be for flight and hotel. Carl rental, excursions, food is extra.

The Giardini Naxos resort has lots of hotels with pools and parking, and is quite central for doing things on the north side of the island by car. You can also get buses from the resort to Taormina and other places quite easily (you need to book the bus though). The only thing I’d say is in October there weren’t loads of people swimming in the pools which might indicate they were not heated, but there were ironically quite a few people swimming in the sea.

20 mins drive from the beautiful coast town of Cefalu and 10 minutes to the medieval hilltop town of Castelbuono. Not quite as touristy at the east side (Taormina area) and fairly central so can drive to both sides of the island including Palermo. It's also a winery so the wine is fab!
