Lefkada with young children

Has anyone holidayed in Lefkada with young children? I’d love to go, but I’m wondering if it would be that suitable for a 1 and 4 year old or not, because of all the pebble beaches. The areas we have been looking at staying are Vasiliki or Nidri. An internet search seems to suggest that there’s a sandy spot on Vasiliki beach, but I can’t seem to find a single image of any sandy section..

If anyone has been with such young children, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Oh it’s wonderful! Absolutely stunning place. There is a lack of beaches but there is a small pebbly beach in Nidri ( bring swimming shoes) never ventured as far as Vasiliki. Does your accommodation have a pool?

Thanks for your reply. It looks amazing.. I am so keen to go!
Yes, accommodation would have a pool. But with the children being so small we have to be pretty much holding them constantly there, and they can’t really run about around it. So it would make a difference to us if there’s also a sandy beach nearby where they can have a little more freedom to move/tumble about

Nidri is beautiful. Not been to the other beach. Def get the the aqua shoes. If you can book a meal up at Rachi restaurant in the mountains - beautiful views!

Yes Nidri is great. The road alongside the beach doesn’t have much traffic as there is a parallel road behind the hotels and tavernas etc which carries the traffic through the town. The views are amazing and the sea is a beautiful blue.
