Heathrow parking advice

Hi,
we usually fly from Manchester to USA but now that seems impossible! So we are flying from Heathrow to New York in December.
my teen daughter is autistic so we try and keep things as simple as possible.
i have booked the Terminal 5 Premier Inn but I am finding parking really confusing.
we would park up the day before and then need to get to the hotel! Where is the best place to park?

thank you

Lots of the hotels offer a parking package so you can leave your car with them while you're away. If you haven't already booked that, see if you can add it on.

I’ve used holiday extras.com to do this before, really easy. See if this works for you

I usually book a hotel + parking package on the purple parking website - it’s generally cheapest.
I was on there yesterday booking for an upcoming Heathrow trip and I saw premier inn on there, so have a look and see if they sell parking through there.
if not, consider cancelling your premier inn and going for one of the ones with a parking package - be sure to check whether transfers are included, how frequent they are and how long they take. That will all be clearly outlined on the purple parking pages

We use purple parking on the Bath Rd and stay at the premier inn right next door, super easy.

There's certainly Purple parking right next to the Prem Inn that's on the Bath Road Heading towards Hounslow but the T5 Prem Inn is at the western end of the Bath road.off the Colnbrook bypass.

@Nowmum43 Have you asked your Prem Inn if they'll do a parking deal (they don't have much space but it might be worth an ask), failing that the Thistle Hotel is almost opposite where you have booked, they have parking but whether you could get a deal as a non res..don't know.

Thank you,

I think I will go with the purple parking next to the premier inn. It looks like a 2 minute walk and then we can walk back to the parking to catch the bus to the terminal the next day.
We are BA so can do twilight bag drop but not sure I can be bothered figuring that one out 🤣

We always do the Pod parking but not the cheapest!

@Nowmum43

Before you book did you NB my query about which Prem Inn you are at - there are two on Bath road and that causes confusion.

You said in your OP you'd booked Terminal 5 Prem Inn. That's at 420 Bath road...I'm not aware of a Purple parking near that but I haven't stayed there in a while.

The other Bath road Prem is labelled as T2 &T3, it's at 15 Bath Road, and from memory that's the one that is definitely adjacent to Purple Parking....the bad news is the hotels are a couple of miles apart.

I'll shut up now but it might be worth at least a quick check of actual addresses before parting with cash.

Nowmum43 · 02/03/2026 20:52

@notimagainthank you so much, I have just checked and seen I have booked for the one at 420 Bath road!
I am so glad you said to look.

so am I best cancelling that one and changing to the one next to purple parking?

I swear flying from Manchester is so much easier!

Glad that's sorted ok and ahead of time.

If you want to stick with Purple maybe one option would be to change to the other Prem, the one adjacent to parking, and then consider using one of the Hoppa buses to get to T5 in the AM.

I'm no longer up to speed on how frequent they are nowadays, or how busy, but they used to pick up right outside the backdoor of the hotel.

Good luck with it all.

Nowmum43 · 02/03/2026 21:08

I have booked the hotel next to the purple parking as that feels less stressful! We can then just walk to the parking and get the bus.
thank you again for pointing it out to me

Purple parking on Bath road is fine but we tend to pay for parking overnight at the hotel then move the car to the Heathrow long stay car park in the morning, it’s easier for when you return I find

purpleheartsandroses · 02/03/2026 21:10

Purple parking bus is every 20 mins

(I don't just know that off the top of my head - I booked with them last week so read it recently)
