Hi, I’m currently planning a leisurely trip around Jordan, will be using a driver/guide.
Looking for any suggestions of places to visit, beyond the usual ones - any off the beaten track wadis, camps, ruins, biospheres, etc, quirky places etc.
Looking for a mix of history/culture, nature, scenery, experiences.

Not going until next year so hopefully things will have settled down again by then.

I haven't looked at the news today, but I went this time last year when the Gaza war was pretty hot, and honestly it might as well have being happening on a different continent, the only way it affected us was that tourist numbers were 90% down so everything was emptied and cheaper.

We only had 10 days and were travelling by public transport so can't help with off the beaten track stuff.
But if you're doing it leisurely, take the full three days at Petra, and spend time just following random paths away from the main sites.
We did two nights two days at Wadi Rum, and I noticed that the second day we got to places I think other people don't tend to. We did the second night sleeping under the stars, and that was our highlight.

When I was planning it, someone told me their favourite thing there was the walk through Wadi Al Mujib. It looks amazing, but you can only do it in the hotter half of the year due to the risk of flash flooding, and there's no way we'd have been able to everything else if it was that much hotter!

We absolutely loved the country, you'll have an amazing time.
