Proper luxury in Europe

HeNeedsRehab · 28/02/2026 08:59

I’ve got a big birthday coming up next year during the summer holidays.

I’m looking for an AI holiday in Europe with proper luxury, like come and take your drinks order round the pool luxury.

I’m going potty trying to find what I want so am asking the hive mind!

Criteria:
2 adults and 2 DC (late primary aged)
Swim up suite where I can lie on my lounger and can actually see them in the pool
7 nights
AI
In case it’s not clear, proper luxury 😂 like Caribbean style luxury
Could spend up to £10k for the right thing
Water slides etc if possible for the kids but not a deal breaker

Thank you!

IKOS but for that price you’ll only get a week and maybe even then not at top peak times depending on how many rooms you have or what level

Barnsleybonuz · 28/02/2026 09:09

Oh you won’t get water slides there but they are the most luxurious brand you will find in Europe and it is proper luxury

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 28/02/2026 09:13

Ikos you'll get a week 10 days max

youalright · 28/02/2026 09:17

Ikos but might struggle on that budget in the summer holidays for 4. Have you tried typing in to chatgpt exactly what you are looking for and see what they come up with

Mushroo · 28/02/2026 09:17

How long for and is it school holidays?

IKOS is about £10k at least) for a week in August. No swim up suite. That would be ££££££.

try Daios cove, Domes resorts or the Grecotel brand, or Eagles palace in Halkidi do villas.

Gran Melia in Tenerife is also very highly rated

Daios cove! Thank you, someone mentioned that to me before but couldn’t remember what I was called!

The beach is rubbish at Daios Cove but if you’re a pool family maybe doesn’t matter so much. We had a very good size private pool there

domenica1 · 28/02/2026 09:26

I think Costa navarino is better overall though

Is AI luxury anywhere?

GoingToEgypt · 28/02/2026 21:07

Someone has mentioned the Stella Palace in Crete to me, but I don’t know anything about it. Hope you find somewhere!

PropertyD · 28/02/2026 21:10

AI is rarely luxury

Paraguay · 28/02/2026 21:10

Ikos

Vladandpickle · 28/02/2026 21:11

Have a look at the Nana Princess in Crete. There’s a waterpark at the sister hotel (Nana golden beach) next door that you can use.

BangingOn · 28/02/2026 21:18

Hilton Dalaman with a lake house.

TheLette · 28/02/2026 21:39

AI isn't really luxury in my experience. The convenience is luxurious but the food and service isn't always luxurious. Probably better to go self catering or half board somewhere with a decent restaurant on site for convenience and take your pick of the best local restaurants/pay drinks etc as needed. I've heard good things about Sani resort but not been. I've been to Ikos - it's relaxing and convenient but not luxurious enough as it should be for the price.

Also if your kids are like mine - just wanting to play with other kids they meet - a private pool is a waste of budget.

IKOS is proper 5* luxury. It is absolutely outstanding on every single level.

HeNeedsRehab · 01/03/2026 09:32

For those saying AI and luxury don’t go together, I want AI because it’s easier. The luxury for me is not faffing about where to eat, what to eat, potentially having to go shopping etc.

We do other self catering holidays but for this one I want AI.

Plus my DC like playing with each other, a private pool or swim up room wouldn’t be a waste, it’d just be used in different ways.

I think it is somewhere like the Maldives, probably not for most of the European ones people favour. I have been to the Maldives, but didn't do AI as it's priced accordingly, but it was definitely pretty luxurious even without the AI. My one AI experience was in Cuba and that wasn't really super luxury, but it was a long time ago.

TooTiredToType77 · 01/03/2026 09:55

I've been to Rixos Premium Belek in Antalya twice with my teenage daughter. AI with 4 a la carte restaurants as well. Not in a swim up room (they do have that in the private villas but ££££). Food was great and a la carte amazing! Roller blading waiters around the pool and on the beach. Evening entertainment was just right. Rooms lovely and comfy and quiet especially on the higher floors. Immaculate grounds. Felt very luxury to me and daughter is desperate to go again!

Witchhunted · 01/03/2026 10:11

Take a look at Jiva Beach in Turkey

Witchhunted · 01/03/2026 10:12

Or ClubMed do.true AI luxury, if you don't mind everything being in French...

loveawineloveacrisp · 01/03/2026 10:38

Barut hotels in Turkey.
