Looking for one week beach holiday in April. We normally go to places like Croatia, Montenegro, smaller greek islands etc in summer, but dont think any of those options will be warm enough in April? Which Canary island and area (or other destinations) would you recommend for mother and teenage daughter, somewhere quiet with white sandy beaches, nice restaurants, chilled atmosphere and some local charm/culture?

Have been to Taghazout and Egypt so looking for alternative to north Africa. Assuming southern Spain/portugal wont yet be beach weather ? Thanks for any tips.

I like lanzarote, but you won't get all those things in one place. Where the beaches are white they are artificial generally so in the newer developments or larger towns E.g playa blanca

North tenerife is lovely but no beaches.

Fuerteventura has beaches, but limited culture.

I prefer Gran Canaria. The south of the island is the hottest of all the canary resorts so if you’re looking for white beaches and a pretty resort have a look at Puerto de Mogan. Amadores beach is stunning. Been in April several times and it’s been hot.

been to Costa teguise in lanzarote and PDC, both at Easter time and it’s been overcast and windy.

We went to southern Tenerife which definitely was warm enough to sunbath even though the so-called heated pool was still very chilly.

Tenerife has beaches but they are black so may not what you exactly want to have. I love the north more it's feels more authentic compared to the south which feels more like Brits abroad. But the north is definitely cooler and you may have a chance of rain and over cloud days.

Weather wise it's like saying what's the weather like in England in June. It's not always the same. I've had a chilly week in Lanzarote in April and a scorcher.
Generally speaking you should expect warm sunny weather, cool evenings and the odd cloudy day.
The Canaries are not known for culture, they are popular for the climate.
Corralejo Fuerteventura has beautiful white sandy beaches and good restaurants but if it's Spanish culture you want then you won't find it.
