Looking for holiday reccomendations abroad on a budget please 🙏
Tied to school holidays so have factored that in to cost, but dont have a massive budget! For me, DH, 14 and 10 year old DC.
Would like all inclusive and activities to suit both DC. Open to destinations except Eygpt and Turkey.
Thank you x

define your budget......

TeamGeriatric · 25/02/2026 11:24

How big is the budget? All inclusive in school holidays is never going to be my definition of a budget holiday. You can have a budget holiday abroad, but generally it entails thinking outside the box. Obviously if your budget is actually quite reasonable then you may well be able to find something suitable in a mainstream destination.

The cheapest all inclusive holidays during the school hols are ones that are out of season . Two that spring to mind are Mexico and Dominican Republic. Ive priced up the holidays and they both came up cheaper than the med.

I've not been to Mexico but there's currently a situation between the government and the cartels which is edging on the tourist area. I liked the DR but you need to be careful where you go outside the resort.

Around £4,000, maybe stretching slightly higher.

honestly, with that budget I think you'll struggle to get all inclusive if we're talking school summer holidays. You need to hit the main package holiday sites and put in your dates and local airport(s) and see what comes up. If you can be flexible then play around with dates e.g. flying midweek might be cheaper than at weekend. If you're up north then look at flying from scottish airports when their schools have gone back or vice versa (scotland go to newcastle or manchester before England schools break up) etc.
Or maybe look at something like Eurocamp or Centre Parcs in Europe - their schools tend to go back a couple of weeks before English ones and prices can drop then.

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 25/02/2026 14:24

Is there any particular reason you don’t want to go to Turkey? There are a lot of good deals there

zurigo · 25/02/2026 14:25

And here was I thinking that budget foreign travel involves something like Eurocamp, but no, the OP wants AI in the school holidays and not to either of the two cheapest destinations 😂

MiddleAgedDread · 25/02/2026 14:41

it's not completely impossible, you just need to start with some open searches e.g. TUI Holidays Search Results | Discover Your Smile

julieh1968 · 25/02/2026 17:51

EasyJet were offering some good deals - were much cheaper than jet2/Tui and even love holidays

Walkingonbrokenglass · 25/02/2026 18:00

Would you consider May Half Term? We're going AI that week for about that cost. Obviously taking a gamble with the weather

5 of us travel to jersey in the school holidays, it's much quieter than the traditional holiday places but the beaches are beautiful and there is plenty to do, I don't think anywhere does all inclusive so I have to factor in meals but we get a hotel with breakfast, flights, car hire and insurance for about £3500 but that's 5 of us for a week and no crowds, I find it good for teens as there's cinema, bowling, zoo , fab shopping and the rib boat trips are amazing

Shinyhappyapple · 25/02/2026 22:18

OP - I’ve just put a search into Tui using the example of 4 people with DC aged 10 and 14 flying from a midlands airport to anywhere in Spain for under £4,000 total for a week AI in the middle of August and it’s bought me up a variety of holidays including mainland Spain, the canaries and Majorca so there are holidays out there. You could do a similar search - with London or northern airports if that’s nearer, or Greece / Portugal etc if that’s preferred to Spain .
