We are booked to go to this centerparcs in August and as the holiday change over days are Fridays we were thinking of taking the weekend to drive back to southwest England. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of places to stop off and visit on our way home.
We had thought of Disneyland Paris but after looking at the site now find its a public holiday in France so will be packed out. Hubby is thinking of this country but I dont really fancy London. Any tips I would be grateful. Thanks

We went to Centerparcs Kempervennen at Whitsun (just south of Eindhoven) and we stopped in G(h)ent in Belgium! DSs are 7 and 9 (they really enjoyed the trams, park, canals, whacky people etc and a general poke around. I wanted to see an altar piece (mummy's one and only bit of Low Country Kulcha for the entire week!) but the boys really got into that- it was "The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb"- which is now known as 'Mummy's magic sheep picture'..... Gotta start 'em somewhere!

I kind of thought 'They're getting 5 days of fun, fun, fun for THEM, we're not made of money, let's make the stopover something different to Child-Central'!

Thanks, We did Kempervennen last year and had a fabulous time, did you enjoy it there? We thought we would try a different one this year and this one has had some good reviews.
Anyone else have any ideas? edging towards chessington world of adventures at the moment although I'm not so keen.

Yes, we did have a grand time! It's was our one and only foray into European Centerparcs, mind. Which other ones would you recommend? Sorry, off topic!

It was our first time at centerparcs last year but we had such a brill time we decided to go again this year.
