Getting to Basel airport from apartment in Saint Louis at 4am

Hello, we are looking at flights that leave early hours of the morning from Basel airport back to the uk and will be staying in Saint Louis. There will be 4 of us and prices to prebook a taxi online are showing as between 50 and 90 euros for a 6 minute journey! Can anyone tell me if I would be able to pick up a taxi outside a hotel or similar at that time? I'm presuming no public transport will be running. If not, I will look to stay 1 night at the ibis as I think they do a free transfer.

Also, will I be able to pick up a taxi from the airport to saint louis at a rank for a reasonable price when I arrive?

Thank you in advance!

Have you looked at Uber or Bolt? Both are available in Basel and are likely to be cheaper than a taxi.

Thank you for your reply. Our airbnb host said uber wouldn't be available at that time for some reason...

For when you arrive there is very good public transport in Basel and the tram goes out to Saint Louis. You can get into the city from the airport by getting the number 50 bus, then transfer to either the tram or a bus into Saint Louis. As for getting to the airport at 4am, I would think you would need to pre book a taxi.

What about going to the airport, on public transport as desrcibed above and rent a car for a day, then drive everyone back to the airport at 4am? From memory there is a key drop off box for Alamo car rental, (Swiss side). We often rent cars when we arrive into Basel, into is an easy process.

We pre booked an Uber at 4.30am to go to Geneva airport in the last few weeks and that worked fine.

for arriving, there's Distribus 11 that takes you to Saint Louis, no need to go to Basel. But that won't run 4AM.
Have you tried https://euroairport.taxis-easy.com/ to pre-book your taxi? I have used this company, they have always showed up as ordered.

have you tried the Swiss Railways timetables SBB.ch If I've got the right place there is a bus at 4.19 arriving at the airport at 4.25 . What time is your flight?

Well if you are going to rent a car, which would be quite useful on the French side of the border, you might as well rent it from when you arrive and drive to the accommodation. Just be sure you can cross borders in the car as you are very close to Germany as well.
