Gatwick south terminal parking recommendations

Hello! We are off on holiday in may half term from Gatwick south. Can anyone who has flown from
here recommend parking options? Looking for minimal wait for shuttle bus as will be arriving back late at night with kids! Thank you

All the onsite parking options have relatively frequent busses. Just have a look on the airport website and chose whichever suits your budget best. Nearest with more frequent busses are more expensive- personally I usually go for the closest one as an extra 20-30 quid in the context of a holiday and a late arrival (which is often delayed) is worth it to me. But this depends how long you’re away for.
As late arrival is a factor for you stick with official airport parking rather than the offsite cheaper ones.

Avoid unofficial cheaper options, there have been cases of cars being parked up in unauthorised fields and even cars being hired out.

We use Purple Parking, secure & reliable. Shuttle buses are frequent, & they are always there to meet us whenever flights are delayed - no matter what time of night.

Book whatever looks best value on the Gatwick official site. I’d do Short Stay and then you can just walk straight across.
Don’t forget TopCashBack ( you’ll get £20 off on top with my referral code).

TCB also works on Holiday Extras. You can book parking at a hotel for the night you come back if that’s easier?

Also sign up to My Gatwick on the official site as they sometimes do deals/discounts for members. We’ve had official valet parking for the same price as official long stay a couple of times.

The South Terminal Long Stay is actually really close to the terminal and we haven’t had to wait long at all the last couple of times. A quick look suggests Short Stay will be exorbitant at half term. If you have a Blue Light Card, it will give you a discount.

I have just booked the Cambridge hotel which includes one night there, parking while I'm away and their shuttle both ways through Holiday Extras. It was cheaper than on- site parking on its own, but I am travelling alone. Might be worth considering if you are arriving late or leaving early. No idea what it's like as I have never stayed before, but the reviews are good.

Thank you for the replies that’s so helpful. Kids have to be back at school the next morning so unfortunately can’t stay in a hotel when we arrive back. @FourForksSakethanks for the tip I have done that and have a discount for parking so works out at a good price
