Not sure where to start. Have done loads of caribbean 5 stars before but im getting a bit frazzled looking at Dubai.Ideas welcome!

Most likely travelling beginning of Dec from London 10 nights. Would like All Inc 5 star with excellent food/restaurant choice. On the beach. Want to chill mainly but have a decent nightlife come an evening. £6K ish total for 2.

Help!

We absolutely love Jumeirah Beach. I’m not sure about pricing at that time of year though, sorry. Be prepared for lots of unhelpful comments telling you not to go to Dubai Grin

Five Luxe JBR is fun, central and has such a 'cool' vibe. Sadly I was not cool 40+ (with my 2 kids lol)

Dubai is an awful place though for many reasons. I’ve been once but mostly to visit a friend living there who’s now moved back to UK and is loving it.

we go frequently -

avoid jbr, it’s the Leicester Square of Dubai
the marina is full of expats but is a good “starter” to Dubai. Good hotels - Marriott, one and only, ritz Carlton.
i hear the W there is ok but it is under construction.

the nicest place we’ve stayed is the madinat. Check out all the hotels around there. They’re all part of the same group.

avoid DIFC, it’s known for being a red light district at night!

ten days probably too much time if I’m honest but I would gladly stay for that long.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look. @Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain, this is really my first time of considering it and I must admit im conflicted which is probably ly why I've got to nearly 50 without going yet.

Jumeriah al naseem- think the beach one is more for families. Might be a bit more than £6k for 10 nights. Ritz Carlton al wadi in desert also amazing

Marriott The Palm resort is excellent. If you get a Club room you get breakfast, afternoon tea (from 2pm so essentially lunch) and free happy hour with substantial nibbles from 6pm included - so really worth the extra. We booked with Destination2 who were considerably cheaper than anyone else.

VanCleefArpels · 25/02/2026 14:27

To add (having been to Dubai many times) : 7 days probably enough - there’s things to do/ see but all v expensive. Uber is amazingly cheap and never wait more than 5 mins. Food & drink are London plus prices typically, hence the good value at the Marriott as above. Reasons I love it: you feel safe, hotels are fabulous, service second to none, everything works, sunshine guaranteed, amazing architecture.
