Can anyone recommend a holiday camp in the Lake Garda area they have stayed at previously? Looking for either a lodge or a high standard caravan.

Have a look at Eurocamp Unofficial Supporters FB page. Lots of advice on there.

Will you have a car?

We’ve stayed at Camping Del Garda twice and loved it. The swimming pools are great and cars aren’t allowed near the mobile homes so it felt very safe with children. It’s just a short walk into Pesciera. We didn’t have a car and it wasn’t a problem.

Del Garda Village - brilliant site and the Villa Camelia was great, more like a lodge than caravan. Kids room was small but fine for us and the 2 bathrooms was a massive bonus.

We stayed at HU altomincio last year and loved it. We booked directly through Hu, and we thought the accomodation was of a higher standard then Eurocamp. You would need a car as around 10 mins drive from Lake Garda and quite a rural location.

Weekend Glamping was really great when we stayed about 4 years ago!

Good advice from @converseandjeans and @ByFreeman . Just to add my personal experience, we stayed at Camp Butterfly, which we booked through Agoda rather than Eurocamp as it was cheaper, and it was cheap in June. 3 bed van with decking. The major point was we had to walk to it from Peschiera Del Garda train station, takes about 20 mins and if you travel light, it's fine. Campsite itself was better than we expected, good pool, near the pebbly beach, bar and restaurant were fine, little shop, washing machines etc. there were some basic kids club activities *not used. We had quiet neighbours so all was fine, also the aircon was superb, if anything too good !. If I had to give the downsides, the caravan was basic, no TV etc. we took our own sleeping sheets and towels and they were pretty hot on check in and out times (but could store luggage to be fair) also supermarkets were 20 mins walk, although the little shop sorted us with basics. Would recommend if you don't expect too much.

We hired a car and stayed at Camping Park Gard near Limone. About 1 hour drive from Bergamo. Stayed in Platinum Lodge, 2 bed, £1400 for a week in August. Pool was amazing, always sunbeds available. Right on the edge of the lake. Amazing views.www.horstmannhotels.com/hotel-e-camping/camping-park-garda
