I’m usually so careful with all our family admin. We have a big holiday this summer booked (fly July) we renewed 3 of our 5 passports this week. 1 has been acknowledged but 2 which have been received as I sent them recorded have not been despite being received on Tuesday. My husband and I fly on 14th April to Europe. Chances of his passport being here on time?

I would say excellent. Mine were done, three acknowledged and one a few days later. Within ten days.

piano55 · 19/02/2026 20:29

I applied for my 2 kids first passports 11 days ago - got the email today to say they were being printed.

Brefugee · 19/02/2026 20:29

mine was done in less than a week. DH took a bit longer back in November.

DD has been told hers will take about 3 weeks. All the dual nationality brits are applying right now so waiting times may be affected.

Thank you all for these positive replies. I really appreciate this.

That's 7 weeks away - you'll be absolutely fine.

Lunchtimehelp · 19/02/2026 21:33

Mine came back within a week (3 weeks ago) but my kids were sent off over 12 days ago and I am still waiting. They wanted more information/documents for one of the kids which they didn't ask for at the start so I'm getting worried!

Yellowshirt · 19/02/2026 21:35

I renewed mine in August 2025. It took about 3 weeks.
Hopefully you will be fine.

adviceatthislatestage · 19/02/2026 21:40

I renewed mine online on 31/1. Delayed sending off my current one by a few days (had 2x text reminders to do this) and my new passport arrived 13/2. Had I been more prompt, think it would have arrived within the week.

VanityUnit66 · 19/02/2026 22:43

I did mine like 3 weeks ago, took 8 days

Astra53 · 19/02/2026 23:51

I applied online on Sunday with the electronic photo ID. Sent my old passport back recorded post on Monday. My new passport arrived yesterday, Wednesday, via their regular postal service. I was amazed it was so quick. Maybe they are checking something on your applications?

Blueskiesnotgrey · 19/02/2026 23:53

I did one just after Christmas and it took 2.5 weeks. I think you'll be fine for April.

skiqueen20 · 20/02/2026 20:00

I applied online on 2nd of Feb and back on 12th so you should be fine

Hs2Issue · 20/02/2026 20:49

Got mine back today and applied for it under 2 weeks ago and they received old passport last Wednesday. I would say yours will be back in plenty of time.

Clearinguptheclutter · 20/02/2026 20:52

Mine took 9 days recently. The actual renewal and return of passport was better than the tracking

Squirrelsandhedgehogs · 20/02/2026 21:24

I've just done mine - applied online Wed 11, sent passport in old recorded arrived on 13th, just been told today its approved then its printed and its due to be despatched imminently - I paid for recorded so very quick. My old one was damaged.

gototogo · 20/02/2026 21:35

Took 4 days 2 weeks ago. You get it the day after it’s approved so likely Tuesday or Wednesday

Fashion83 · 23/02/2026 12:23

Thank you. We've received DH already but neither of the children’s have been processed which seems strange. I am hoping they update the website shortly!

Mine arrives in 9 days just before Christmas

My friends came back today - 11days after applying

fizznchips · 24/02/2026 22:14

I think the children's ones are processed at a different location, so that may be why they haven't been processed yet

TeamGeriatric · 25/02/2026 08:10

I think to avoid parental abduction situations, child passports always take longer than adults ones. The same day service I don't think exists for child passports for this reason, quickest is a week. They just have to be more vigilant with identity checks, I'm sure they will come soon. Last time I renewed a child's passport, which was a couple of years ago, it took almost 2 weeks to get the email acknowledging receipt of my documents, which was at least 11/12 days after they had arrived, and then another week to get the passport to printing stage. So just over 3 weeks in total to have their passports back in my hand.

Lunchtimehelp · 01/03/2026 19:00

Give them a call, they were quite helpful when we called. We have had all of ours back now

Placestogo · 06/03/2026 18:35

In a similar position… applied on the 25th if Feb, sent old passport on the 26th, reveived acknowledgement on the 3rd of march…
Departure is on the 20th of march….

have you received yours?

3678194b · 06/03/2026 21:16

I'm hearing 3 weeks for renewals.

However, I'm booked in next week for Fasttrack for DC's passport. We were away for Feb half term and away again at Easter and I just couldn't take the risk with that smallish window of time.

Hope you get it soon.

Placestogo · 11/03/2026 08:06

Do they send an email when the passports are reay or are sent back to us?
