Has anyone done this? Thinking of taking 3 adult dds from 24th to 28th December- will places be open? Is it best to get an Airbnb and self catering or hotel and a restaurant for Christmas day lunch?

Prague is a magical and fascinating city to visit at any time of year. At Christmas its like being dropped into a fairy tale. It will be cold in winter so you should pack accordingly..The great attraction of winter is that you can move about the city far more easily and can actually cross Chareles Bridge without being accosted by crowds. I would go for a hotel if you fancy warmth and comfort. Some of the air B&B are in older buildings and heating standards may vary. Most places will still be open but with shorter hours. The main Czech day for celebrating christmas is the 24th so the city will be quieter then. Many of the shops may close on the 24th and re-open on the 26th. The castle should be open together with the main museums and galleries. Resraurants and bars will also be open but again may keep shorter hours. Hope this is of help.
