Easter holiday

Hello,
I'm looking to book a holiday for myself and DD11 and DS15 for 5 nights from 31st March.
We want somewhere warm enough to sunbathe- DS wants 'to chill' but myself and DD like to explore a bit so it's tricky. DS is super sporty and would probably like water sports also nature.
I'm thinking of Dubrovnik or Sardinia but we're complicated by flight times- can't leave til mid morning and need to be back by early evening Easter Sunday so some flights don't work.
Don't really want to do classic package holiday in Canaries....
Any recos? Thanks

Budget?

is your ds in year 10 or 11?

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 17/02/2026 18:46

We went to Dubrovnik in March last year.

Lovely holiday, but very wet & very chilly !

CharlotteStreetW1 · 17/02/2026 18:48

Thessaloniki. Easyjet do a city break package. Or Athens.

3WildOnes · 17/02/2026 18:48

I don't think either of those destinations offer reliable sunbathing weather in April.

Harrietsaunt · 17/02/2026 18:49

It won’t be warm enough to sunbathe in Dubrovnik that time of year.

Sardinia probably not either unless you’re very lucky.

gototogo · 17/02/2026 18:51

Weather is unlikely to be that warm and possibly wet. Spain has more reliable weather but still no guarantees, advantage is there is more flights and shorter

Thanks will look into T. We've done Athens before

Canaries may be the only area in Europe warm enough to sunbath. I managed to get sunburn on an overcast day in Tenerife.

You can get plenty of non-Brit abroad hotels on B&B package if you look around but you may be cutting it short.

HollyBluIvy · 18/02/2026 07:57

Malaga, or somewhere along that coastline

CarolwithoutanE · 18/02/2026 08:00

Egypt? Win for weather, not sure about exploring but could snorkel?

Greece maybe?

redboxerclub · 18/02/2026 08:01

I don’t think anywhere in Europe will be hot enough for water sports? I think Malaga will be shorts and t shirts and chilly evenings?

if I wanted a chill and explore I’d go to Palma or Ibiza town but it could be freezing!!

RonnSeall · 18/02/2026 08:49

If you are looking for warm weather at that time of year I’d try southern Spain (Malaga, Seville, Grenada) or Morocco (Agadir or Essaouira are usually a bit warmer than Marrakech)

we were in Morocco in December - eating lunch outside in our t shirts!

TeamGeriatric · 18/02/2026 09:31

Malta? Obviously you can't guarantee it will sunbathingly warm in April, it would typically be 19/20 degrees. We went in 2024, last week in March and it was warmer than expected. It started out with highs around 20 degrees, but breezy, jumpers on/off all the time because the wind chill made it a bit cooler, but later in the week we had a couple of days of 25 where it was basically beach weather, but the sea was still cold. We went primarily for sightseeing so weather wasn't a concern. People were swimming but too cold for me. You need to consider Bermuda/ Egypt/ Middle East if you want proper sunbathing weather, not in the canaries.

Gran Canaria but west of the island apparently less touristy but becoming more so. Or Sicily?

Decided we're doing a city break to Rome and Naples instead, thanks everyone!
