Beach trolley recommendations please

Hi,

Can anyone please recommend me a foldable beach trolley thats really good on sand please?

I have three primary aged children and I’d like to be able to take them to the beach without my ex this summer, but I just can’t carry everything. Boys are only 7, 6&6 so not much help either at this stage.
Needs to fit beach chair for me, coolbox, picnic mat, towels, and beach toys.

I’ve seen lots of camping ones online, but no idea if they are good on sand, so really hoping for actual recommendations please.

thank you

I can't imagine a trolley that's not going to be a nightmare on sand/ uneven paths down to the beach tbh!

Speaking as a single mum living by the sea:

You don't need a cool box. Your sandwiches will get eaten within a couple of hours of arrival. If you're really bothered, you can get little cool bags/ insulated picnic rucksacks.

Beach toys are very light, so the DC can carry their own in rucksacks. The older one can also carry the rolled up picnic blanket under their arm.

I strongly believe that everyone should have the mobility to be able to sit on/ get up from a rug on the sand easily unless they are disabled or quite elderly, but it seems that I'm in the minority there, which is a bit concerning IMO

Not on sand, but I've pushed this trolley around with a very large (elderly) dog in it on all sorts of surfaces and the nice wide wheels meant it dealt with everything. Very easy to fold and really sturdy so the younger kids could even take a nap in it

Something with big wheels is a must, a Quick Look on go outdoors website throws up this one

That looks like the trolleys that they were renting out for £5 for half an hour at Camp Bestival. People were having problems even getting them over the uneven grass of a festival site.

Not so the wheelbarrow that I'd borrowed from our allotment. We got a lot of envious glances!

You need wide wheels on sand, then they can work very well. Look at some reviews and search them for "Sand" or "beach". Some of them have a flap you can let down at the back if you want to carry longer items, eg a windbreak.

We had a brilliant one for several years until we sold our beach -adjacent house. Annoyingly I can’t find a link, but it had much wider wheels than the usual camping/festival ones and a bar handle rather than the single-handed pull that seems to be the norm. Sorry not to be more help, but they definitely do exist!
