Hi everyone

I'm looking for some advice to help me finally have a happy holiday with my family. My DH is a travel snob and travelled a lot before we had the children. All our holidays have been crap as we have tried to cram in too much 'travel' and not enough holiday and the kids have hated it .🙁 I want to give my kids (boy and girl aged 13) a brilliant beach holiday this summer and have set my heart on Cyprus which I know quite well.

Could anyone recommend a hotel or All Inclusive that is not too 'Brits abroad' but is still near or on a sandy beach? We don't need on-site entertainment or kids clubs.

Also, how does AI work? Can you hire your own car and drive there from the airport yourself or do you have to do the whole thing as a package?

Ideally I'm hoping to balance DH being a travel bore with my kids having fun so I definitely don't want Ayia Napa. I'd be grateful for any ideas.

Thank you x

Sorry I’ve just googled and I actually think it was called Latchi.

latchi is lovely. And not too far outside of Latchi is a village called Neo Chorio. We stayed at a very small villa complex there and it was blissful.I have just tried to find the details of the hotel but cannot. They may have closed- it was family run and the family lived mostly in the UK.

Teens here we stayed at the Atlantico Mare, the DC loved the swim up rooms. Food is really good there too. Lovely pools. As the teens now love swim up rooms we are doing Liberty Signa in Turkey this year because also they have multi room accommodation with Swim ups.

Also another good choice with nissi bay directly across the road - you can choose from the lively end with the beach bar and music for the dc or the quiet end where you’d not so you were on the same beach

@liveforsummerwe found a lovely beach club at Nissi beach for the day. The teens were blown away!

We had a lovely 10 days in Cyprus about 18 months ago with my in-laws. Flew to Lanarca and spent a few nights in adjoining rooms at the Sandy Beach Sentido. Lovely breakfasts and you could do other meals at the hotel but we went to local places instead. Wee sandy beach and a great pool. Then we rented a villa up at Limassol for a week. We rented a car and did some half day trips with afternoons or mornings at the pool and did a couple days at the beach when we had the villa (we took the bus or car 10 mins up the road as the coast we were at was rocky). My in-laws favourite thing was I hired an in villa wine tasting as a thank you (the trip was a gift from them). My husband took them into the mountains for a day at the monasteries while I took the kids to the beach. It was a perfect combination for us. we were there in October and my kids still found it a bit too hot though!

It’s fab and definitely not brits abroad, Cyprus especially the east of the island due to its lovely beaches is very popular with Scandinavians and Eastern Europeans among others. There is always a real mix out and about and in the nicer hotels especially
