Can anyone recommend where to buy a package for say 3 nights in Amsterdam by Eurostar? Or has anyone booked separately and can recommend a hotel not to far from centre? Any tips welcome!

The Eurostar website has packages available. It would still be easy to just book your train then book a hotel on booking.com etc, though.

Be warned, Amsterdam hotels can be very expensive!

Tbh it might be better to book a package via Eurostar or lastminute.com. We booked Eurostar fares when released but having difficulty finding hotel availability at a decent price to match.

Go to the "map" option in Booking.com and search, search and search again until you find somewhere for a reasonable price. Possibly somewhere on the outskirts with good transport links...

We booked directly on the Eurostar.com website, a train and hotel package. Stayed in a really nice eco friendly hotel which was one tram ride away from the station. Hotel Conscious Vondelpark. It's near the Vondelpark which is really lovely for a walk, hotel was very clean, staff were really helpful and changed our room due to a small issue, and the breakfast was all locally sourced and incredibly tasty. was cheaper than more central hotels.

We stayed here. Happy with it. We had a street view rather than canal (think those rooms might be more expensive). Not far from The Dam. Get a tram from the main station, or you could walk I think. Download Citymapper in the UK and it will notice you’re in Amsterdam and tell you what trams to get.

Recommend the Art Hotel just outside central Amsterdam. There's a frequent bus service that stops just outside which takes 10-15 mins to get to the centre or you can walk in 45 mins.

We loved staying at a hotel on a canal. Just a lovely place to be. You actually feel you are in Amsterdam and that mattered to us.

Sounds like what I am hoping to find. Do you happen to remember its name or location?

The Ambassade on the Herengracht is wonderful.
