Birthday Ideas for New York Trip

DD and her boyfriend will be spending her 21st birthday in New York. I’d like to book/arrange something for them to do on her actual birthday, I’ve never been so hoping to get some ideas here.

They are staying near Times Square and going in May. Looking for something in the day and then a restaurant in the evening, preferably Steak or Italian as that’s her favourite.

I had afternoon tea at the Plaza on the morning of my wedding- that felt very indulgent and special!

Gallaghers is a classic place for steaks (I haven't eaten there so this isn't a personal recommendation).

Helicopter rides are lovely but very expensive. I would book a nice restaurant for them

Book tickets up to the crown at the Statue of Liberty 🗽 Book at least 4 months in advance & make sure you book onto the first crossing of the day. They'll be up early anyway due to the time difference & it'll be slightly quieter than later in the day. It's an incredible experience. You must book tickets specifically for the crown though rather than just pedestal tickets. It is not possible to upgrade to crown tickets on the day.
They will love it. It's honestly a pinch me moment when you realise you are inside the actual crown of Lady Liberty.
