Algarve February

Hello. We have flights to Faro for February half term, leaving next Thursday, although as yet I haven't booked any accommodation.

Will be with husband and two children (7 and 9).

We are looking for somewhere with a usable pool that isn't tiny (heated or inside is fine) and enough going on at the resort that there is the opportunity for our children to make friends - and possibly a kids club. Ideally within a walkable distance from shops and restaurants, the more charming the village/town the better, although we intend to hire a car too.

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Looking at the various reviews and websites it's hard to know where will have other families and anything going on in February!

Many thanks in advance.

We stayed at Tivoli Wellness resort, had a fantastic kids club and beach is walkable. Free Hotel land train to the old town for mooching or dinner. I’ve no idea if they heat the pools for the winter so you’d need to check, but pool is huge and set over 3 tiers as well as kids pool, spa indoor pool and adults only pool.
with our stay we also got a choice of a free day trip to either the local water park, dolphin/sea world type place/ or zoo.

Thank you for your helpful response. Tivoli looks great, the problem is that I don't want to book somewhere where being winter there's no entertainment for the kids, nor friends.

How about Martinhal? I’ve only been to the Sagres one but I know they have an indoor pool and it’s very child friendly.

You definitely need to go for indoor pool if you’re planning to swim in the algarve in February.

We’ve been to the Algarve many times in Feb half term. Can recommend Martinhal Sagres, Martinhal Quinta and Pine Cliffs. We love the vale do lobo and Quinta da lago areas that time of year

if it’s an outdoor pool, it will need to be heated. Also check the weather as they have had a terrible winter, torrential rain and storms so fingers crossed it clears up for you.
