Unreasonable, too late options for half term! UK or northern Europe?

I have just realised how close half term is for us (16th Feb!) and it's likely too late to book anything that isn't eyewateringly expensive, but it's the last time before A-levels that we might be able to do something nice with DD(17).

I am looking at Paris/Amsterdam via Eurostar or UK coastal/city. We usually go to Suffolk, but have no car atm - so it has to be viable by train from London. It would only be for a couple of nights for a change of scene.

Any thoughts or inspiration??

Bruges is lovely, 2h eurostar to brussels, then local train 1h. perfect for a getaway

What about Edinburgh? Direct train from King's cross.

York or Edinburgh directly from Kings Cross
Bruges, Ghent - Eurostart to Brussels and change
Amsterdam

Bath? Visit the spa, swim in the rooftop pool, see the Roman Baths? Easy to do via train and v walkable.

Lille, Bruges, Paris or Le Touquet.

We have been to Edinburgh and Bath a fair amount in the last few years, but York is deffo on my to do list. I am v keen to go to Bruges, Antwerp and Ghent - but teen cannot be persuaded, I will have to do my own grand tour once she is off to college.

Thank you for replies, very helpful, but we have apparently decided on.....Brighton (please don't judge) and spend what we save on travel on a better level of accomodation and some spa treatments. Comfort, rest and the sea ended up being the deciding factors.
