India’s golden triangle and where else?

We are thinking of booking an eight day tour of the golden triangle for next Easter. If possible I would like a few relaxing days at the end before flying home. Has anyone done this?

DH is going to the triangle with a friend and then flying down to Goa for 4 nights. As the usual holiday booker it’s strange not knowing
much about his itinerary.

A lot of the tours have either Ranthambore National Park to try and see tigers, or somewhere like Jodhpur or Udaipur.

I’d extend to one of the cities mentioned. Choose a lovely hotel and relax.

Goa would be ok but not for 4 nights. Ranthambhore is problematic in some ways. We first went in 1987 and it was amazing. No one else there. Now it’s total chaos. The tigers have become quite difficult to find and when they are, they are hounded. Far too many large noisy vehicles in the park - it’s such a shame. I’d stay in a high end palace or havelli hotel and enjoy it!

We did this and then went down to Kerala but we were there for two weeks.

When I was in that area some years ago I went to Udaipur and Pushkar, which were both very pretty and fairly chilled - I don't know what they're like now though. Jodhpur and Jaisalmer are meant to be worth visiting too.

Also went from Delhi up to Shimla in the foothills of the Himalayas. Think you'd find some lovely hotels in any of these places if you'd rather not have the bother of flying to Goa or Kerala.

Tikli Bottom - https://tiklibottom.com/ I haven't been since Martin and Annie died and they were wonderful hosts, but it's delightful. Try to find some more recent reviews as I have no idea who is running it now.
