Need a break but its difficult as flying from different countries

I am wondering if someone could help!
I would like to take my 2 kids for a holiday from july 25th for 1 week. Crete....if possible....and the difficulty is that I will need to fly from bristol/ exeter/ newquay while my friend and her kids would fly from Germany ( berlin or leipzig) max budget £2500. For flights, hotel and breakfast. I am struggling to find things that would be okay flying from different countries. We dont need luxury. Just somewhere to stay and breakfast. Obviously separate as in 1 adult, 2kids each. I am darling miserably.
Is it just me or am I asking to much?
Also it's know it cheeky to ask here but just the prospect of trying to find the same on a German and and English site is difficult. My friend found a place from Germany but booking it from bristol is a lot more expensive. And trying to book hotel and flights separately is even worse!

EasyJet at Bristol airport fly to Crete in the summer months every day.

Unless I'm missing something, why can't you book separately but stay in the same resort/area. You book from UK, friend books from Germany. Do you absolutely need to be in the same accommodation?

Find accommodation on Airbnb that suits you both, then book flights.

Yes, we'd like to stay at the same place. Just seems difficult to find one that is 2500 or less for the 3 of us ( just with breakfast) near the sea as a package.

Why don’t you consider renting a villa? Then fly at your leisure and makes things easier?

I don't know anything about Crete, but we go to Paguera in Mallorca a lot and about 90% of the other holidaymakers who go there are German, so your friend will definitely be able to go there from Germany. There are three nice beaches and a good selection of accommodation, restaurants, shops including a Lidl and buses to/from the airport and elsewhere on the island.

You can book as a Jet2holidays package or separately. I think Tui is a German company, so I'd have thought you can book packages to Mallorca or Crete from both the UK and Germany with Tui. Alternatively use Skyscanner to look for flights from both your local airports to Crete, Mallorca or elsewhere and then look for accommodation on Vrbo etc.

But you might also be struggling with the budget as that's probably early in the school holidays so a peak date and a lot of people will have already booked.

You can both fly EasyJet to Chania 28th July - 4th Aug, from Bristol and Berlin, for around £250pp. I would just book those flights separately and then look on Booking.com for a B&B with a pool, or on AirB&B for a villa.
