Tips for Rome

We're booked to go to Rome in May

Looking for hints and tips.

We're wanting to do the Colosseum, Trevi but don't want to get scammed, you put in Google and all sorts comes up!

Also what is there to do on an evening? First European city break for years and years so feel very novice like!

Book colosseum weeks before you go. They sell out quickly

Comfortable footwear! May will already be plenty warm during the day.

Evening - stroll, have a leisurely aperitivo + dinner and stroll around. Classical concert. Ruins by night.

https://colosseo.it/en/tickets/24h-colosseum-roman-forum-and-palatine/ - this is the official website for tickets (used to be coopculture but no longer).

Do your research before you go. The Trevi fountain is free - you can walk to it.

Use TripAdvisor to find lovely restaurants.

In the evenings we ate out, found a nice bar and people watched, and walked!! Wear comfy shoes.
