Not booked holiday abroad in years

Hello, I've not been abroad for about 12 years. My last 2 holidays abroad - Greece and Portugal - the weather was awful and I'm wary about it happening again. I guess that's the risk I need to take. I'm determined to go abroad this year with my daughter.

I'd like to go at the beginning of June near the sea (warm sea preferred), somewhere hot with a very high chance of good weather. I don't have a huge budget - maybe £1000 in total. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

If you want it hit the turkey, Egypt, Morocco, canaries. There’s a high chance other places in Europe will be hot at that time, but I’ve been to the Balearics in June and it was overcast and sea/pool freezing.

Jet2 Holidays offer some good deals and are Which recommended, there is a January Pay day deal at the moment. So many places to choose from. Corfu is lovely, went last year, going to Side, Turkiye this year. Check the expected temperatures for the time of year. Good luck and enjoy.

That's quite a tight budget but if you want hot with warm sea I recommend early September rather than June. Prices will be similar but the sea is so much warmer anywhere in the Med. Not so much Portugal because it's the Atlantic and the sea is always cold IMO.

Agree with Turkey/Egypt/Morocco

Good time of year to go I think, not high season so won't be rammed with tourists but it will be hot

I agree with this, we always used to go to Greece in September (pre-dc) because the sea had had all summer to warm up and the air temperatures were still hot. In June the (Med) sea is likely to be quite chilly unless you go further south.

I think your budget is going to make it difficult though. The cost of holidays has gone up quite significantly since covid and £500pp is challenging, although probably doable.

I haven’t been, but I recently noticed that even the luxury-brand hotels in Casablanca are a good price.

Thank you all for your advice, you've been a great help. I didn't think about Egypt or Morrocco but will take a look. I'm interested in Turkey too. Will be nice to go somewhere I haven't been before. It'll be my 10 Yr old dd's first time abroad, so I want to get it right.
