Got really cheap flights for a weekend away with a friend ... both on the same booking. Checked in and the flight is half empty ... they tried several times to get me to pay for seats but they'd be more than the flights! Plus I'm not fussed about sitting together on such a short flight.

They've allocated two seats at completely different ends of the plane 😄, I mean seriously .... why! To warn others to pay for seats maybe? I don't think other airlines do this! They try to sit people on a booking together.

As I said, not fussed, just bemused.

I have never used wizz air but this is very much what Ryan Air do on purpose. Its a tactic to get people to pay for seats. They rely on people buying add ons to keep their base price so cheap.

As another poster has said, Ryanair do this. They do force you to buy 1 adult seat when travelling with children. The children will be sat with the adult, however if you don’t buy the second adult seat, they will be randomly allocated elsewhere

Ryanair definitely do.. me and my husband were on a plane about a quarter full and were sat at opposite ends!
