Looking for some recommendations please, holiday of 4, me & DH and 2 DC (2 and 10). Somewhere under 5 hours from Scotland, relatively cheap as we are on a budget. Looking for end of June/start of July.

Somewhere hot (like Spain etc) can anyone recommend hotels with stuff to do nearby? Need stuff for kids to do and husband likes to do some exploring. A pool is essential. Either all inclusive or half board.

Can anyone recommend decent hotels? Spain, Tenerife or places similar please? Thanks

HB and AI in decent hotels is not cheap in summer. You’d be better served by self catering if you are on a budget

What's your budget?
We're going to Menorca all inclusive in June. First ever all inclusive package hotel type holiday so I was clueless on price.
2 adults, 5yo and 3yo. Kids activities, pools, by a beach. Some restaurants nearby but we probably won't explore loads, one or two days in nearby towns perhaps.
It's 3k which was a bit above my 2.5k budget but an apartment room was a must for me. Probably could have got a bit cheaper if we were all in one room.

if you're central belt of scotland or further south then looking at flying out of Manchester or Newcastle if you can go before English schools break up, it 's often cheaper even when you factor in getting there and potentially a night in a hotel near the airport.

I came to say exactly what @MiddleAgedDreadsaid, our last 3/4 holidays we have flown from Manchester or Leeds because it’s been over £1000 cheaper even with travel/hotel costs.

My in-laws fly or drive to us in southern England then fly on as it’s £££ cheaper for start of Scottish school holidays (no holiday destination flights from where they live anyway)

We found Majorca to be good value a couple of years ago. If you stick to the south west coast near Palma you’ll be close to the airport which is good with a toddler, Alcudia in the north is nice too.
Have a look on Jet 2, you will probably find a free child space as you’re going before English school holiday

Thanks all will have a look. Budget is about 2.5K. Could probably stretch to 3K but 2.5 is ideal. DH has suggested Manchester as saving about £900 on a few he has looked at already. Just unsure where to go.

does anyone have any recommendations for decent hotels that aren’t going to bankrupt us 😂

You’d probably be best to find a shortlist of
options that fit your dates / budget and ask for opinions on location. people might know the resort if not the specific hotel. And there’s also trip advisor reviews!

There are a few good option out there. This is flying from Newcastle. If you’re happy to travel to Turkey you will get more for your money.

It’s £2066, if you can travel the first Thursday of June.

Some great deals in AI hotels in Antalya, Turkey will be worth a look. Same as hotels in Cyprus - Paphos or Protaras.

Edit to say Love Holidays have some bargains for Antalya at the moment. Under £2k for a week AI in some lovely looking hotels with great reviews. We've used Love Holidays several times and they're great.
