Prague attractions

Myself and DH are off to Prague for 3 nights in a few weeks. We are going Mon to Thursday so hoping it won't be too busy. Do we need to pre book attractions like the castle, river cruises etc? We aren't too keen on being on a timetable so would rather just do these things when we feel like it. At the same time we don't want to miss out if it's busy!

No you don’t need to pre book. The castle is always busy but not to the point where booking is necessary. There are many, many boat companies along the river…you can book on the day if you’re not fussy which one. I did book ours the day before because we saw a particular boat we liked the look of, but there was plenty of spaces on it when we got on, so it hadn’t been necessary really 🤷‍♀️

Brilliant. Thank you. We would prefer not to book and just go with the flow haha. Are there any attractions that you would highly recommend/avoid?

Agreed. We went in February. We didn’t need to pre-book any of the attractions though the concierge at our hotel was very helpful if we wanted reservations etc.

it was very cold though ( and snowing at points) so definitely take a warm coat and comfy boots (lots of cobbles).

was a lively place to bust and will definitely go back so hope you have a great time @crumpetandcoffee

We used the Top10 Prague guide book and then just google. Lots of fun things.

If you get a chance to please try out the Anonymous Bar.
A friend told us about it when she went, so we went there to. One of the lost theatrical and memorable experiences I've had on holiday.

Thank you everyone for your advice and comments 😊. The Anonymous bar looks very interesting so we'll definitely see if we can try that. We will definitely take very warm clothes and comfortable shoes. We can't wait!

We did a great walking tour of the Castle district with via FreeTours. You can do a self guided tour of the Jewish Quarter and cemetery which was very interesting if sad. Wander around Mala Strana, John Lennon wall and the Petrin tower. Obecni Dum - beautiful art deco building with nice cocktail bar.
