Our flights from Goa back to london have just changed we now arrive in Bangalore at 21:20 and connection onwards is still the same at 05:45am we were having a 5 hour transfer previously now it’s a lot longer. Any ideas on what to do - looked at sleep pods at the airport they are fully booked is it worth trying to book a hotel at the airport but we will have to do security again, lounges only give access for 2 hours. It’s an onwards 10 hour flight so would like to be semi rested ! Any ideas ? 🙏

It’s a modern airport. I think you will find it empties out. We were first flight in once. 7 hours won’t be enough to see anything. Take a book or two.

I wouldn’t want to spend 7 hours hanging around there whether it’s busy or empty. Just find a hotel nearby and get 4 hours’ sleep before the next leg.

I usually find a quiet area and sleep.

It will take lots of time to get to a hotel and 4 hours isn’t worth it. When they get back it will be very busy and they might need 3 hours anyway! If you haven’t travelled in India, you have no idea. This is a new airport and it’s simply not worth leaving. You also have numerous checks getting into airports in India. It’s a long process believe me. Just come back from Calcutta. Don’t leave the airport! Getting back in can be problematic - visa checking etc.

I last went through BLR maybe 6 or 7 years ago but In the absence of an update from a more recent traveller I'm inclined to agree with this TBH^^.

From memory the main terminal is modern and would be fine as somewhere to wait.

It might be a struggle to find anything like the equivalent of a handy Prem Inn, travel to/from might not be slick and all the airport processes in India tend to take a long time.

Every airport in India requires numerous documents just to get in the building. Nothing is like it is here and you simply don’t have time to go through all of this checking and queuing. You certainly would not get 4 hours sleep in a hotel - your first flight might be late too. Not unusual.

If it helps, you will/would have to do security again anyway. I've changed domestic flights twice at Bengaluru and it's security every time you get on a plane, even if you've just come off one. They are not very friendly either.

Ok thanks
I had booked 008 sleep pod hotel but can cancel
had no plans to go see anything may be worth booking a lounge for comfort and maybe nap ! Just aware il them getting on a 10 hour flight in economy seat - though with extra leg room!

@Sundayagain27 Every procedure takes far longer than here. I’d just book a lounge in the airport.

Passed through there recently arriving 5am it’s a very beautiful modern airport. Not particularly large but has a pretty outside space. Nicer than Heathrow T5 to look at. I think you could easily find a quiet space
